Vehicle detailing involves cleaning and restoring the condition of the surface of the car's paint finish as well as other visible components on the exterior of a vehicle. It has also been known as paint correction, machine polishing, or mopping.
It involves the use of polishing machines and different grades of polishes and compounds chosen for each individual vehicle ( and on occasion each panel ) to remove as many if not all imperfections as possible from the vehicle's paintwork. Usually caused by poor maintenance these defects in the surface of the paint can be seen as swirl marks, holograms, buffer trails, light scratches or marring and can normally be removed during the detailing process.
Paint correction is usually carried out in stages, after a safe wash and inspection the paint will be claybarred to remove any contaminants bonded to the surface of the paint. The paint thickness can then be measured and the polishing processes started with deeper scratches requiring more stages or passes with the machine.
Once the paint defects have been removed a wax or sealant can be applied, again these are chosen to suit each individual vehicle and clients needs. Combined with an interior or engine detail these services provide the ultimate in care care.
As these services are bespoke and tailored to the clients and vehicle needs it is not possible to publish accurate prices although we can usually give a guide price over the phone. As always advice is free so please call Andy Jackson on 07836 665955 for more information.
